“Grinding is not just some formality; it is a mentality. Once you establish your belief system, it gives your ‘grind’ a focus. Grinding without a plan leaves your future uncertain. However, grinding with focus gives your life the direction it needs in fulfilling your ultimate purpose.”

“Let’s be honest. We all have people in our lives who grind all their lives. They work hard, but most of them haven’t progressed or haven’t pushed their purpose forward. Or maybe you have found yourself grinding daily, working hard but seeing no movement toward your goals. But why is this?”

“It’s simple. We put too much emphasis on ‘the grind’ and not enough on ‘the outcome.’ We believe that as long as we’re busy and tired at the end of the day, we must be doing something right. But grinding without direction is just exhaustion. It’s time to grind with intention, not just effort.”

“I learned this lesson the hard way. At one point, I was working multiple jobs, trying to launch my business, balancing a music career, and burning myself out daily. I told myself I was ‘hustling,’ but I wasn’t making progress—I was just running in circles. What changed? I redefined my grind. I stopped focusing on how much I was doing and started focusing on what was actually working. I cut distractions, set clearer goals, and developed a plan that allowed me to grind efficiently instead of just endlessly. And that’s when everything shifted.”

“Here’s the reality: the grind will break you if you let it. But if you approach it with focus, discipline, and a strategy, it will make you. It’s not just about working harder—it’s about working smarter.”

The Reality of Grinding Wrong

“Meet Jackson. He’s an entrepreneur, working around the clock to grow his business. Every day, he wakes up early, answers emails, hops on Zoom calls, posts on social media, runs ads, and chases clients. On the outside, it looks like he’s killing it. But the reality? Jackson is stuck in an endless cycle of ‘busy work’ that isn’t generating results. He’s working hard, but he’s not working effectively.”
“By the end of the day, he’s drained, frustrated, and questioning why he’s not seeing progress.
He tells himself he just needs to work harder. So, he sacrifices sleep, skips meals, and ignores self-care. Weeks turn into months, and instead of thriving, Jackson is burnt out, overwhelmed, and barely breaking even.”
“What Jackson doesn’t realize is that he’s making the biggest mistake hustlers make: he’s grinding without a strategy. He’s mistaking effort for effectiveness. And because of that, he’s not building a scalable, sustainable business—he’s just surviving.”

How to Grind with Strategy

“Grinding isn’t about doing everything—it’s about doing the right things, consistently. Here’s how to grind with purpose:”

1. Get Clear on What Moves the Needle
“Not all work is productive work. Identify the 20% of tasks that bring 80% of your results. If something doesn’t contribute to your growth, stop giving it energy.”

2. Stop Trading Time for Results
“Busy doesn’t equal successful. Instead of focusing on how many hours you work, focus on how much impact you create.”

3. Systemize, Automate, and Delegate
“If you’re doing repetitive tasks that don’t require your expertise, automate them. If you’re doing things others can handle, delegate them. Free up your time for high-level, revenue-generating activities.”

4. Protect Your Energy
“If you’re exhausted all the time, your grind is broken. Prioritize rest, mental clarity, and balance so you can sustain your efforts long-term.”

“Write Because You Have To”

“I’m going to be very, VERY honest with you—I suck at writing. I repeat, I SUCK AT WRITING.”

“Sometimes, I sit back and wonder, how did I even pass grade school, high school, and college when all they made us do was write? The answer? I had dope teachers. They drilled me just enough to pass my classes. But after that? My writing skills fell off a cliff.”

“Honestly, I wish I could show you how I used to write my jokes. It would be something like:

‘Dog.’ That’s it. No details, no setup, no punchline—just ‘Dog.’ And somehow, I’d expect to remember what I wanted to talk about on stage. But when I got up there, my mind would be on something completely different.”

“For a long time, I said, ‘Screw writing.’ I figured I’d never remember it anyway, so I’d just freestyle like Lil Wayne. And honestly? Sometimes that worked. But then, I realized something—when I wake up and pour that first cup of coffee, my brain fires up with thoughts and ideas.”

“So, I started writing.”

“Now, I keep a small notebook on me at all times. Because you never know when a full-fledged idea—whether for business, a skit, a joke, or a life-changing concept—will hit you. And if you don’t write it down, you will forget it. Out of sight, out of mind—remember that.”

“You must capture your thoughts while fresh, set them in stone, and build on them. You’ll have plenty of moments of reflection when you look back and wonder, ‘What was I thinking back then?’ Having a written record of your ideas will be invaluable.”

“Not only that, but one day, you might teach someone. Comics don’t just tell jokes—they pass down knowledge. Yes, comedians have students. Reach one, teach one. And when you get to the point where you’ve made it, you have to give back.”

“I’m serious—write down everything. Lock your ideas in a safe if you must. After 10 years, I have at least three full notebooks of jokes—over 240 pages of material that killed, bombed, exploded like Hiroshima, and everything in between.”

“But it’s not just jokes. I’ve written down business ideas, show concepts, sitcom scripts, and skits for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. And you should, too.”

“Write until you don’t want to write anymore. Then take a break… and write again.”

“Never stop. Never settle. Because if you don’t write it down, you’ll never know what could’ve worked. And by the time you’re done, you’ll have thousands of ideas to pull from—way better than remembering some half-baked thought from three months ago.”
